Mid level Business Analyst with Secret clearance

As a Business Analyst with the Department of Defense (DoD), you will play a crucial role in supporting and advancing the mission-critical initiatives of one of the world's largest defense organizations. You will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Process Analysis:

    • Conduct thorough analysis of existing business processes within the DoD, identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand workflows, and document business processes.
  2. Requirements Gathering and Documentation:

    • Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business requirements from stakeholders using appropriate methodologies and tools.
    • Translate business requirements into clear and concise documentation, including user stories, functional specifications, process flows, and system requirements.
  3. Solution Design and Evaluation:

    • Work with technical teams to design and evaluate solutions that address business needs and align with organizational goals and constraints.
    • Provide input and recommendations on technology solutions, ensuring they meet DoD standards for security, scalability, and interoperability.
  4. Project Management Support:

    • Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones and objectives.
    • Track project progress, identify risks and issues, and propose mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  5. Stakeholder Communication and Relationship Management:

    • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating communication and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, fostering collaboration and trust.
  6. Quality Assurance and Testing:

    • Develop test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate that solutions meet business requirements and functional specifications.
    • Conduct testing activities, including functional testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and defects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a government or defense-related environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex business processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and solution design using methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
  • Knowledge of defense systems, processes, and regulations, with a clear understanding of the Department of Defense's mission and objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) are a plus.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance may be required.
