Junior/Midlevel Tester with Secret clearance

Role Overview: As a Tester at Oran Inc. working on the Department of Defense project, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our digital solutions meet the accessibility requirements outlined in Section 508. You will collaborate closely with development teams, UX designers, and stakeholders to identify, document, and address accessibility issues throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Accessibility Testing: Perform comprehensive accessibility testing of web applications, software products, and digital content to ensure compliance with Section 508 standards and other relevant accessibility guidelines.

  2. Document Findings: Thoroughly document and track accessibility issues using designated tracking tools or systems. Clearly communicate findings to development teams and provide guidance on remediation strategies.

  3. Provide Remediation Support: Work closely with development teams to implement accessibility fixes and improvements. Offer technical guidance and support to ensure timely resolution of issues.

  4. Accessibility Review: Participate in design and code reviews to proactively identify potential accessibility barriers. Advocate for accessibility best practices and provide recommendations for inclusive design.

  5. Accessibility Training: Assist in developing and delivering accessibility training sessions for developers, designers, and other stakeholders. Stay abreast of emerging accessibility standards and best practices.

  6. Accessibility Compliance: Monitor changes in accessibility regulations and standards, including updates to Section 508, and ensure that digital assets remain compliant with evolving requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Previous experience in accessibility testing and remediation, with a strong understanding of Section 508 requirements.
  • Proficiency with accessibility testing tools such as JAWS, NVDA, Axe, and WAVE.
  • Familiarity with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WCAG guidelines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working on government contracts, particularly with the Department of Defense, is preferred.
